Esperanto for English vs Spanis vs Portuguese speakers

Saluton. As of 8 Jan'19 there are 357k active Esperantists for English, 308k for Spanish & 108 for Portuguese speakers (total 773k). I wonder when will the Spanish or Portuguese Esperantist overtake the English. I think the Portuguese are keen learners, so I believe the cultural competition will be interesting. Kion vi pensas?

Kion mi pensas?

I think that once you get out there - really get out there and experience Esperantujo in all its glory, you will slowly start to see that there is much more to Esperanto than the Duolingo courses. No doubt the Duolingo courses help, but there is already a healthy, diverse, international Esperanto culture out there, worthy of exploration.

When I requested an Esperanto course for Chinese speakers, nobody agreed that that would be a good idea. Maybe Esperanto for Polish speakers would also be nice.

"An Esperanto course for Chinese speakers" is a GREAT idea that goes back to 1907 or so. Whether a Duolingo course for Esperanto from Mandarin is a higher priority than the countless other suggestions they're receiving, I have no idea.

It's funny you should mention Polish. I was proofreading an Esperanto-from-Polish course just last night.

Do you speak Polish? Also, I think that if anyone is willing and able to make a Duolingo course, they should be able to. Duolingo seems to be actively opposed to some courses (no Finnish or Icelandic yet even though people claim to have applied to contribute). Maybe in the future I will be able to make a Toki Pona (not the same as Tok Pisin!) course for English speakers.

I do not speak Polish. This made proofreading a bit difficult at times. Mostly I was skimming the course for mistakes in the Esperanto. (There were a few.)

Do you speak Polish? Are you familiar with the course mentioned in the link I posted above?

Glad to see that someone else supports reverse trees from Esperanto (I requested English for Esperanto speakers).
