Hello, I started to do Hindi 3 days ago and I know 1 word.
That's good. nonetheless if you continue to learn, you'll end up with a large vocabulary. Wishing you a good luck.
it's good ! I learn since august, it's difficult sometimes but i keep going and i finnally understand and integrate notions.
Would anyone have any suggestions on how to get a better understanding of the Hindi language? I'm usually in a place where I can't use the microphone, so I'm not sure if I'm saying things correctly.
I detest Bollywood for a number of reasons but I would still recommend learning a few songs and get their translations. The song will stick in your head after a few listens and you can go back to the translations. Try Kal Ho Naa Ho to start.
I did this a lot with Qawwali (Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan) to learn some of the metaphorical elements in Urdu I might not normally catch on to.
Indeed you can listen to songs but I will recommend you to listen to those singers who speak clearly and who sing some good quality songs and not just noises.
Sincere apologies for not responding sooner. If you're beginner then you can try listening to Armaan Malik. He speaks clearly and slowly. But his songs are romantic( BTW Most of the hindi songs are romantic). Here's a link to his song-https://youtu.be/SvscrxzfQ0w If you want to go one step further then you can listen to Arijit Singh. He also speaks slowly but the lyrics are more urdu-hindi rather than just hindi. You can also try some 80s singers ( Mohammed Rafi,Kishore Kumar, etc). Good luck!
Thank you! :)
