Some German Traditions and Culture
To learn a language means not only to learn words and grammar, but also expressions and idioms. They make a language vivid and colourful. Language and especially phrases, idioms and everyday language is also always a mirror of the culture, the history and the traditions of a country. So to know about them can be helpful to learn and to understand a language.
Over the time I started a view discussions about these topics. And I received wonderful replys from you. Great answers, quick-witted comments and interesting informations. So that these posts don't disappear and others get the chance to learn from them, Buck72 made the suggestion to collect them in a list. I start the list with of discussions I initiated. I will also add some post from other users because I really like them. I didn't sorted them by date because I don't think that's important for the list.

Angel, thanks for creating this interesting post - now I can easily find the links. Looks good. Some Lingots in appreciation. :) All the best, Chris
you mean to mark a post as 'sticky' that it is shown first on popular? That can only do moderators and stuff I think. :-)
best regards, Angel
as far as I know they won't do it anymore, that's why I called it "pseudo" : Sometimes I don't like to see threads going down to nowhere in "popular" ;) Thematic link collections might be useful to others in the future.
yes, you are right, they don't do it. So I put that link into my profil. ^^
Oh my god I forgot "Dinner for One" this year! But I heard from a British friend that is was kind of getting re-introduced in GB!
