Great spanish series to watch on Netflix

I've just finished watching money heist (La casa de papel) on Netflix and it was surprisingly one of the best series I've watched!

I've been finding Netflix original shows to be a really good place to change the audio to European Spanish with english subtitles and it's helped me loads. Does anyone else know of any good shows that offer spanish audio with english subtitles or English audio with Spanish Subtitles

I also very much enjoyed La casa de papel. Here's some others I've found on Netflix. El Ministerio del Tiempo. (Mantaner la historia segura>Time travel). El Gran Hotel (situaciones dramaticas de los empleados). Velvet (la casa de moda y los empleados que viven en el sotano). Currently I'm watching Casa de las flores. Funny situations.
I love Netflix on Spanish.

"Diablero" is a new release, and it's pretty good if you like Mexican Spanish. It's funny and has a lot of action.

I'm partial to the Mexican accent, and I have found Club de Cuervos to be amazing on Netflix. I'm not advanced enough to be able to understand very well, especially since they use so much mexican slang, but that is exactly why I like it. I can hear the Mexican cadence, and I get to look up slang. I have tried to study Mexican slang and its difficult because its hard to believe the words in the idioms. For instance, "Qué pedo" is "what's up", but it literally translates to "what fart".... I mean seriously, could you imagine walking up to someone and asking about a fart... crazy times... but in Club de Cuervos, you can hear that it's very common. Club de Cuervos is also highly entertaining and is enjoyable regardless if you are learning Spanish or not, highly recommended. NSFW, don't watch with kids around (you have been warned).

If you specifically want the Mexican accent, you could watch narcos Mexico as well, its only spanish about half the time though.

I second this. I don't know how much thruth there is to this show, but it was very entertaining. 5/5. And I know every drug related words now. lol. Question to every native Spanish speaker: How was the actors' accents on the show? I heard most of them were english and studied spanish just for the show, including the actor who played Pablo. Just curious how they sound to Spanish or Mexican people.

Many of the Netflix shows can be set to Spanish audio with English subtitles. I sometimes leave the audio in English and have Spanish subtitles.

I watch English-language shows in English but with Spanish subtitles, this way I can always learn a bit.

At some point I'm going to have both Spanish audio and subtitles. Right now I can read better than I can hear so the combination should work well. I can always pause or replay if I need more time to understand.

That's how I watch. Like you say, sometimes you miss words that are spoken quickly and then the subtitles are helpful.

I prefer Mexican to Colombian to Spanish, so I like the movie "El Infierno" on Netflix, then Narcos, and recently started "El Barco" - which is harder for me because Castilian is much faster and I don't know the slang...

I second El Infierno and Narcos Mexico for people from the United States trying to learn the language of our neighbors down south.

Me too, I love Netflix for this. I was addicted to watching Narcos, then El Chapo. However the accents are really strong and I found when I watched programs in European Spanish it was suddenly much easier to understand! Mexican and Colombian accents are strong but at least you can learn a lot of swearwords, like 'puta madre' and 'mierda'.

I'm currently watching La Catedral del mar. It begins with a man in serfdom who must flee with his baby son from the Catalonian countryside in 1319. They flee to Barcelona in order to start a new life. However the wife stays behind. This series is really well done.
