Make these kind of supplementary printouts available?

When I learned "travel Japanese" a long time, I found that forcing myself to have to recall phrases quickly helped me commit them to memory more thoroughly.

I did that by printing Japanese words and phrases on one side of a small strip of paper, and English on the other side. Then I'd dump the strips in a box and snatch them out quickly, translating them quickly aloud to beat my egg timer.

Of course, sometimes I'd read English first, sometimes I read Japanese first (depending on which side I snatched them up), but either way I was forced to recall the translation quickly.

Now, I use the same technique as I'm learning Spanish, but it would help if I had a pre-printed sheet, instead of having to make my own.

All it would take is putting English in one column, and Spanish in the other. We could fold the sheet, so that English is one side and Spanish on the back & glue the fold. Then we would cut the phrases into strips. Dump the strips in the box & we're ready to roll.

e.g.

Como esta usted, senor? | How are you, sir?

(cut) ----------------------------------------------------

Mi cumpleanos es el Viernes. | My birthday is Friday.

(cut) ----------------------------------------------------

etc.

I found those strips very helpful.

It would also be helpful if DuoLingo arranged other exercises that required us to recall phrases very quickly. I know that we have timed practice, but the timed practice allows too much time, in my opinion. It's not much of a challenge. Maybe make us beat our best times, for badges or Lingots?

Such thing already exists in an electronic form! It is called Tinycards and is also run by Duolingo. You can find it here: https://tinycards.duolingo.com/ You can browse the existing decks or create your own and then access them using web browser or application. I know it's not a printout, but I hope it helps.

Thanks dreamloomer. I didn't know about Tinycards. Duolingo just keeps getting better and better!

Thanks to another Duolingo learner, I also found out about Spanish vocabulary learning resources at Internet Polyglot (https://www.internetpolyglot.com/lessons-es-en), which I can print out to make my strips.

Anyway, two Lingots for you! :^)

It is the 21st Century. Computers and Robots are there to save our trees, which have a much more important role than making flash cards! :-D
