Android update fail

Latest update (new owl glyph included) causes app to hang at startup -- notification that Dutch download is 0% complete forever -- and causes havoc with the system until I kill it.

The normal process for any malfunctioning app is to do the following:

1) Reboot your phone. Try again. If it still doesn't work.

2) Delete the app. Reboot the phone. Reinstall the app from the store.

It's amazing how often this works.

... or not :-)

If the latest store Android app introduces new features they are very likely buggy.

If the most recent update does not fix the problem, the only solution is to downgrade to a PREVIOUS (or even much older) version by manually installing an APK file from an archive site.

If you don't receive a solution in the troubleshooting forum, then ask Duolingo's staff via the "email support for Plus users" in your account

I don't think that the limited Androi history / changelog with missing informations (or simply duplicating the very same text for several new releases) for Android is of any good help.

This history does not come handy when I am searching for a specific APK version which e.g first stable Android app version which includes the new "mobile grammar notes" or new "DuoLingo Plus course offline download".

When they remove important features, they are also not included in the history description.

..(...)..

Neither is releasing a mobile app on a very often short-term 2-4 weeks basis IMHO a very good practice.
Fundamental testing by a QS departments should take longer than just a view days...

This sounds to me that they are not releasing a well tested release branch, but directly (no long-term QS on multiple devices) beta/alpha code directly from the "developer" (e.g main/trunk/master/head branch) source repository.
