No more typo notification on Android?

I did a practice in Hebrew yesterday, and I mispelled a word; I spelled בצבע as בצע, which is unambiguously wrong. However, the app still counted it as correct. Usually, I would have received a messages telling me that I had a typo, but after the redesign, that doesn't seem to happen anymore.

Duolingo, a language learning app, doesn't tell me when I made a mistake. Is this really the intended behavior?

I had the same impression as you did, although I couldn't say if it started with the redesign. If I type o clock instead of o'clock in English (I'm doing Russian from English), it still tells me, that there is a typo. However, if I mix up ы and и or other vowels (which ist a real mistake) there is no feedback whatsoever. As a consequence, I look at the discussion whenever I'm not completely sure, but it's really annoying.

I don't know about the Hebrew tree, but the French tree I'm in on my Android phone tells me when I misspell something. It still counts it correct, but I get the message.

If the misspelled word is a word, not just something close to a word, it counts it as incorrect.

Most 3-letter combinations in Hebrew are a word ;)

The thing is, this worked fine until the redesign, so I doubt that it's because of the tree.
