Lost my streak?

Duolingo tells me I lost my streak because I didn't do any studying yesterday. But I did: I remember clearly sitting at the dining table (where I don't normally do my Duolingo, so it is easy to remember) I even remember which exercises I did. It is not really a big deal, but it is irritating me, as I have been good at doing a little every day. Is this just a ploy to get money out of me to upgrade to PLUS? I would be very disappointed if that was the case.

Were you on an app? If they don't have a rock solid connection then sometimes your progress won't sync to the Duolingo servers.

If you were on a laptop using WiFi, I suggest switching to an ethernet cable for the same reason: you need a rock solid connection to the Duo servers.

Also, I notice your daily goal is 20XP; is it possible you only did one lesson for 10XP? You not only have to log in and earn points, you have to meet your goal.

P.S. in the lingot store there is a thing called a "streak freeze". When I'm trying to maintain a streak, I keep one purchased at all times. It will sit around until you miss a day, and then it will automatically get used without you having to do anything. It's a good idea to check your inventory every day to ensure it's still intact. Sometimes they get used without you knowing it (like yours would have been yesterday).

Same problem yesterday even with purchased Plus. I even purchased an extra streak freeze

Mine keeps doing this too. For some reason my day resets at 4pm, so if I practice in the morning and then in the afternoon the next day it says I missed a day. This is very frustrating as I practice daily but my schedule varies. My device is set to the correct time and I haven't changed timezones since I started using Duolingo. I have had no response to my bug reports on this issue. To see if this is what's happening to you check how many hours it says you have left under Daily Goal on the right hand side of your home page. And if anyone helps you let me know what to do to fix it.

But where do I find my home page?

I use the website not the app, so if you're using the app it may be different. On the website the tabs across the top next to the word Duolingo read 'Home' 'Words' 'Discussion' 'Labs' 'Stories' then a space, then your name with a drop down arrow, then a picture of a flame, then a picture of a lingot, then a picture of a bell. The word 'Discussion' will be darker because you're in the forum. Click the word 'Home'.
