'Danish: An Essential Grammar' eller 'Danish: A Comprehensive Grammar'
I'm in Module 3 of Danish classes and would like one of the Routledge books to assist me with grammar.
There are two books and I'm unsure of which one is appropriate.
Would love some input with this with people who have purchased either or both books!
Thanks in advance! (=
Thank you, I'm looking for a book I can refer to when I'm at school or studying away from my computer (=
Will save it for when I'm on my computer!
The comprehensive one is a VERY comprehensive reference grammar - everything you possibly might want to know about adverbs in the adverb chapter, nouns in the noun chapter, etc. I meant to order a new copy the smaller, cheaper, 'basic' grammar from Amazon but chose a used copy of the comprehensive one by mistake. I haven't delved into it much but am pretty happy with it. I've used Routledge products in the past (dictionaries, reference grammars, linguistic sketches of language families) & would consider using them in the future. Held og lykke!
The Essential one is available as a pdf online. Just google it and have a look, and decide whether you like it or not. I personally think it has all the basic rules you need for Danish.
