Here is a great children's program for Dutch learners!
All you beginners will know just how hard it is to find a tv show to watch that speaks slowly enough to be understood. Nijntje is perfect for that! The narrator speaks slowly enough to understand, it is the perfect length of time (not too long) and it is not annoying like so many other children's programs!
Feel free to list any other shows that you enjoyed that others might enjoy too!
Can I recommend George & Paul as well?
It's a 5 minute animated programme aimed at small children but just as much fun for adults. George and Paul are two friends living in a world made out of wooden blocks (themselves included) and so are able to build whatever they want or need at a moment's notice. Their adventures are so creative and they're so engaging as characters, and visually the programme is appealing too.
A slightly faster pace with the narration than Nijntje but there are Dutch subtitles available if needed.
Wow! Thanks for that website! I live in Canada, and still I can watch most of the videos... There are so many programs/movies with subtitles! You should make a post just for this link ! This a gold mine for Dutch learners!
I must admit I first heard about the NPO site myself by reading old posts in the forum ^_^ I’m in the UK, and I’ve been thrilled by just how much brand new Dutch stuff I’ve been able to access online - I hadn’t been expecting that when I began the Duolingo course.
I have to say I still feel a bit wary about putting my head above the parapet and making forum posts myself ^^” But I’m very glad my comment gave you useful information ^___^
I'm going to check this out. Here are a few that I've been using to practice my listening and comprehension:
Peppa Pig Nederlands - (YouTube) George cries about everything and Peppa takes herself too seriously imo, but its really good to develop basic listening skills.
Woezel en Pip - (YouTube) A little more advanced than Peppa Pig I think
Zondag Met Lubach - (YouTube) An informative talk show. Lubach is pretty funny even though I can't understand most of what he says. Regular conversational speech but occasionally I can catch a whole sentence.
