A simpler translation: "This is the goal that made their team a champion".

Its incredible for a language app that these sloppy English translations are constantly allowed and our attempts to help Duolingo improve are ignored. The Indonesian course has not been added to in almost 3 years. Duolingo, you should be ashamed of ignoring your customers like this

"This was the goal that carried their team to becoming the champions" keeps the sense of "membawa" , but is still not all that natural a sentence.

Doesn't it need to be "champions", plural? A team that wins a championship consists of champions; the winning team is not the champion.

Very poor English translation, agree with comments below. Not very motivating.

Agree that this is a literal translation that sounds unnatural in English.

The awkward word-for-word English translation is is probably evidence of idiomatic Indonesian phraseology. Seen occasionally elsewhere.
