security breach in duolingo?

i have received an email recently saying they know my password (it was the duolingo password) along with the attached email.

i have other accounts with the same email and password combo, but just to be safe i thought i'd ask here.

I didn't get an email and who sent it to you?

It is recommended to always use different passwords for different accounts. I'd suggest to change the passwords for all accounts which currently have the same password.

Use a password manager. I honestly can't recommend it enough. If I would ever receive an email from someone where they say then know my password, then I'd just change the password for that account asap and ignore him/her.

I don't even know my password for duolingo. I probably have never even seen it since it automatically generates a long and random password when I want to make an account. Almost all of my passwords are unique and nearly impossible for someone to get through a security breach of a server (unless they store the passwords in plain text. If I find out a service did that with my password I'd instantly delete my account.)

Just get a password manager. Don't risk anything :)
