New language

Hi There are many people in my country who doesn't know any language but one, Persian. so they cannot use this app to learn English cause they can't choose any other languages as their native one. How can I ask Duolingo team to add my language to their app too?

You might even be able to contribute, if you want! Good luck!

If you want to (help to) add a language to Duolingo, you can fill in a form here if you want to apply to become a contributor (tip: Make your application look as tidy as possible), but don't expect a response soon. They sometimes don't respond in a long time. :) Good luck! AP4418

Also, something else to note, you have to be on an almost native speaker level of the language.

Do the people who only speak Persian have access to computers or cellphones with internet access?

Monolingualism is not that uncommon; not just in your country.

I wonder why no one from a Persian speaking country hasn't created a web site similar to Duolingo, but catering to the local audience. In the meantime, if they go to Memrise, there are courses in English, German, Turkish, and other subjects for speakers of Persian. Since I don't speak Persian, I can't vouch for their quality.

I expanded on the comment.

Some countries have been erecting barriers to internet access. If your country had done so, then Duolingo might have been blocked. (I know it might have looked like I was concerned that they were too poor or technologically illiterate. That was not the meaning I was going for. I apologize for not being as clear as I should have been.)

It's okay I'm living in Iran and now I'm replying you from there lol! And about Memrise, I know that app I used it when I had M.A exam, that's fine, extraordinary good but only for learning new words not for learning a language from basis. I looked for a good app for such a long time and I found Duolingo most perfect. It helped me to learn French and Im planning to lean Spanish with it. But that would be perfect if they could add Persian as the native language so I can introduce it to my students.
