Y Chwe Gwlad - the Six Nations!
What a wonderful coincidence - I just started out on the "Sports" unit in my Welsh course today, and what came up? Y Chwe Gwlad, the Six Nations Cup, which is starting today! But not enough with that - the lesson also talked about Wales winning against France, and that's the opening match tonight... Cymru am byth!! Any Welsh learner interested in the Six Nations Cup? Here's the Welsh site to keep informed: http://www.wru.co.uk/cym/cymru/6gwlad/newyddion_y_chwe_gwlad.php
Thank you! I'm a huge fan of Y Chwe Gwlad. Strangely, I follow both Wales and England (my wife is English, and I've spent a fair amount of time in Wales). I'm really looking forward to the Wales vs. England clash at Cardiff. Should be a cracker!
It'll be great... as long as we hear "Mae Lloegr wedi ennill!" at the end :D
Oh yes, I'm looking forward to that, too! Me, I support both Wales and Ireland...
I'm actually okay with any of the Home Nations teams winning, but I'm a bit partial to England and Wales.
Wales had had 2 great wins so far!! I've even downloaded the great anthem, but struggle singing fast enough!
Yeah, we're doing VERY well, I think we've really got a chance to win! Ooh yes, me too, I LOVE that anthem - and singing along before every match helps a lot in learning!
I think the next match will all but decide it. England vs. Wales looks like it will be the definitive match of the tournament.
I saw that Mako Vunipola will be out, which is a big blow for England. In good news, it sounds like Halfpenny might, just might, be fit enough to play for Wales. He's a favorite of mine in the Pro14 world.
Scarlets could really use him back, too. They've not been the same without him.
