MAJOR ACCOUNT PROBLEM Struggling to get help via bug report

I just sent a third request in, but something's broken.

I have two accounts (won't list them here). One was apparently erroneously created and billed without my knowledge. One is legit. They're almost the same but one is a misspelling of my email address.

Every time I submit a ticket, I get an email from Duolingo to verify the issue I'm having. I respond immediately confirming what they're asking and I never hear back from them. I'm using GMail so I'm hoping that something weird isn't happening due to the way GMail does replies.

I just need to not be double-billed for my account and I'm getting desperate.

Someone help!

If you don't receive a solution in the troubleshooting forum, then ask Duolingo's staff via the "email support for Plus users" in your account

Oh, wow, thanks for that; I didn't realize there was a separate contact point for Plus users. Just sent them an email.

Don't forget to ask them to remove the second account and to give your money back for this mistake. I have also two accounts because I'm involved in testing, without being a buyer. Maybe you was tester or contributor in the past. If you don't remember to be part of such a team, then I'm sure the account was created by you, in a historical time when accounts could be created with only user + password. Remove it or add a different e-mail address into it to avoid confusion. Your two accounts are linked only with your username. I'm sure you will get your money back, I hope the legislation in your country defends you. Always be careful with invoices, never pay a unverified one. A lot of people bites this bait, I hope is a simple mistake now. I saw big companies using guns of this kind, without being punished because of stupid/weak/influenced legislation. Be extremely careful with subscriptions or recurring payments. Consumer protection bodies don't fight with systemic theft mechanisms, they only threat individual situations, with high loss being the priority... Then to protect yourself is the best choice.

The other option is to go to your credit card / bank and contest the charges. Cancel both accounts. Then, after a month or so of not being charged, start up the account again.

Not being a PLUS subscriber won't stop your progress in the language. You'll just get stupid ads, and won't be able to study when away from the internet.

The issue is that the billing happened last Feb, and then again in Sept. So it's far too late to reverse charges. I can kill the sub, but then I've still lost the other year's worth of money I paid. I'm just hoping this gets someone's attention and it gets fixed. :\

I am convinced at this point that when I reply to support emails, Duolingo is not receiving them. I am going to try sending another one from another account in hopes of reaching them. Has anyone else using GMail had this problem?

I sent another email from my work account and they took care of the issue. It's strange that I haven't been able to get a response to them,, but the problem is taken care of. Hopefully they got my response and sort out whatever the issue was with receiving my emails.
