"Easy Welsh" series
I notice there is stil la stickied post discussing the possibility of an Easy Welsh series, and a sticky on further resources for learning, but neither mention that there actually is a short Easy Welsh series currently on Youtube.
Has anybody seen it?
There are also a couple of basic welsh videos but the comments, and my non-native ears, seem to suggest that the pronunciation is not good. Could any native speakers comment on this?
Yes I've seen it. I really like them because they show you that Welsh speakers aren't anal about everything being 100% correct. Plenty of the people in the videos drop in English words or forget mutations. I find that all very reassuring!
Yeah, someone posted earlier when they came out of the with first videos, although I don't know if it got stickied. I've seen the first two, didn't know they came out with the third and fourth ones.
As for the older videos, I couldn't tell you if he's a native speaker or not, he may be a L2 speaker (speaks it as a second language), but aside from some dropped vowels that would confuse a lot of learners, his pronunciation seems fine and he can pronounce some of the more difficult sounds for native English speakers with seeming ease, so in the very least, he had a lot of practice prior to making those videos. There are slight variation in how to pronounce some words, depending on the region and dialect, and I think the people trying to drag him for his pronunciation think the way they learned it is the only way.
