Just slowly grinding away
35 184 XPs, 1030 lingouts, 245 crowns and 181 days: steadily learning and slowly understanding. Not learning fast but learning constantly. I don't test out but do every lesson of every skill with the aim of getting the whole tree golden. I will take a break over June/July for some 'practical lessons' (visiting Spain) then I will continue when I return.
don't let the completionists make you feel slow. this is a marathon, not a sprint. steady learning lasts longer
As preparation for your trip to Spain, are you listening to the Spanish dialect in movies or videos? As you probably know, they speak quite quickly with a different accent and some different expressions. I just got back from S. America and spent a few weeks beforehand getting used to the different accents and expressions in Chile and Argentina. (¡Fue un poco difícil hablar con los chilenos!)
Ah thanks. I have a radio app on my phone where I listen to Spanish Talk radio over weekends. It sure does help listening to native speakers. This station is from Spain so it is very close to how they speak 'at home'. I am starting to pick up more words than garble when I listen although I do not always understand exactly what is said because my brain goes into auto translate and cant translate so fast yet.
You're at lvl 25 in 6 months, i wouldn't exactly consider that slowly grinding away.
Wow, such great progress!! Keep it Up!! On a note, I have visited Spain once before and it was amazing, you will love it there honestly!!
Bien hecho! No tengo tu paciencia, no puedo hacer todas las lecciones. ¿Qué parte de españa? Pasé el verano pasado en Barcelona.
Thank you. I will avoid responding in Spanish as my writing skills still need work. For now I am happy to be able to read and listen with a little speaking skills. I am going to Madrid and Toledo and a couple of other places. Madrid feels like home and Toledo fascinates me from a historical perspective.
