Free Dutch books

I'm an Indonesian student majoring in Dutch studies. Does anyone know where I can download or read Dutch books for free (preferably in Dutch, not translated to English)? Currently I need books on Dutch history as well as Dutch literature for references on my studies. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Here's one website: https://www.dbnl.nl/. I just typed "Gratis boeken in het Nederlands" in my browser, and it listed a bunch of websites. I'm not sure which ones are trustworthy, but the above link is for the Digitale Bibliotheek voor de Nederlandse Letteren (something like Digital Library for the Dutch Letters) and it looks like you can download all kinds of books in PDF format. The website and the books are all in Dutch. Here's another site: http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/languages/nl.

Dbnl is not a website where you can find modern literature. Only books of which the copyright has expired can be found there. Mostly old books with old dutch language. Even for native dutch speakers the language is often hard to read so i would only recommend it when you are an advanced speaker. Here is the site of the national dutch library. When you have a subscription you can read ebooks or listen to audiobooks. A subscription is 21 or 42 euros per year (depending on how much ebooks you want to read). There are a lot of books on there, even new populair ones. Even though it costs money, it is definitely worth it. https://www.onlinebibliotheek.nl/klantenservice/lid-worden/de-online-bibliotheek.html

I highly recommend reading Anne Frank's diary: Het Achterhuis. I found it quite accessible (as long as I kept a dictionary with me):

Please do remember that the books that are free to read are mostly the really old ones, which have a lets say peculiar look on history? You could end up reading about how "of course Nederlansch Indiƫ belongs to The Netherlands & that Soekarno etc. are just a bunch of petty ungrateful riff-raff who need to feel the whip hand..."
