Help spelling-check my name in Korean? Please :)

My name is Anvekshaa and since 'v' can't be easily translated in Hangul, I'm a little confused. Help me choose the right translation?

So is it 안왝사 or 안왝샤 or 안왜크샤

Or is it something totally different?

Help! :)

Based on how I would pronounce your name as an English speaker, your name would be 안벡샤. A 'v' sound generally becomes a ㅂ/b sound when transliterated into Korean. However, this is based on sounds, and not the alphabet. So if your name is written with a V, but the sound is somewhere between a 'v' and a 'w' you can use 안왝샤. I hope that helps. :)

I concur with 안벡샤 being the closest approximation, assuming it's a "v" sound. Similarly, my name is David and in Korean the "v" is rendered as a "ㅂ/b" ---> 데이빗.

Hey, that did solve my problem. I wasn't aware of the v=b situation. Thanks a lot for your help! :)

Here's an interesting site that might do the job for you: http://gimite.net/roman2hangul/

This is what it did to my name: F렏맄 V라디미ㄹ 초울테ㄹ

What concerns me is the opening letter of both my first and middle name are still roman, not hangul. (I, too, suffer from having a "v" in my name.)

Koreans will be confused with how you've written your name to no end. You can't leave letters like ㄹ by themselves trailing off like that. Fredrik would probably best be rendered as 프레드리크, 프레드릭, 프레더리크, or 프레더릭 in Korean

Don't blame me. Blame the site I used.

I'm know way too little Korean to even attempt to write my name in Hangul.

Haha! I don't think the site did a good job for you. Quit it. :P
