How to learn a language
I decided to learn Portuguese. I know Spanish fairly well, but I had pretty much no experience with Portuguese. I knew that I could go through the course only half-knowing the language, but I didn't want that. I wanted a firm grasp on it.
The Portuguese from English course is conveniently bundled into sets of about ten skills, on average. I decided that my approach would be to learn every skill in the first set, then go through them again, bringing them up to level 2. Then level 3. Then level 4. Then level 5. And then I would go to the next set of skills and do the same thing.
I've finished set one, and I'm now starting set two. The approach is working well so far! I would recommend it if you're thinking of learning a new language.
One last tip: Not all language courses are arranged the way Portuguese from English is. Still, just take about seven to ten at a time. It works really well!
