A new companion on the German course?
I noticed today the German lady has gotten noticeably younger. Or went on holiday and left a substitute. Or the team are trying out a new audio ;-)
Has anyone else noticed? Did I miss the announcement? Is there a reason for the change?
I wish they would fix the male voice. For some reason, I cannot hear him clearly no matter how hard I try.
It is probably a me thing since I have a problem with hearing voices that are more on the computerized end. He just doesn't flow for me and sounds more like an AI to me and I am terrible at picking him up, especially word endings.
The new 'girl' speaks more properly. I live in a city in The Netherlands near the border of Germany, so I speak very often with Germans. The new girl sounds more like the natives I have met... So the team did a good job by changing the audio.
Oddly, this seems to depend on whether people have met Germans from the (old) East or West. In my last but one job, I had two German colleagues, one of each - their voices / accents were completely different.
It's also a north/south difference. Germany has as much variation in accent as anywhere else :-). I find the Bavarian accent, for instance, analogous to listening to Scottish.
This made me smile because I thought the "old" voice sounded just like at least one German that I've met :o)
Noticed it also. I did happen to notice different words in the prepositions section. They were mostly locations but I had not seen them before.
