When writing answers in the "Questions" section, it would be nice to be able to use paragraphs, blank lines, write words in bold etc. I fooled around a bit and there seem to be commands that would enable me to format my text. However, I haven't been able to figure out how to use them systematically. Can you help me?
Agreed. The one I want most is a proper paragraph break, which you seem to have mastered. How did you split off the "Thanks!" above? I find extra new lines just disappear.
Ok here we go!
*Italic* = Italic
**Bold** = Bold
***Bold and Italic*** = Bold and Italic
[Space]-[Space] Bullets =
Highlight is the little dash thingy next to the 1 on the keyboard. [Dash thingy]Words[Dash thingy]
EDIT :I now know those are accent symbols. Sorry :P
I've tried it and it turns out that a single asterisk on each end makes italic and two asterisks on both ends give bold. Just as it actually appears in your comment =P.
"How did you split off the 'Thanks!'" That's just it - I have absolutely no idea how I did it! I sometimes found that for paragraphs, inserting numbers and leaving one line blank before each numbered line helps. Like this:
Tab Stop Test
nnnnnn nnnnnn nnnnn nnnnn
Okay, so apparently you can use the tab stop key before each paragraph, too. But I still haven't figured out how to use blank lines between paragraphs, even though I did it in my original post.
I've also figured out that when you write |space|-|space|next line| you can get some nice bullets like these:
I would also like to know how to highlight a quote with a long gray bar on the left side of the line.
Color font and the yellow background like pk008 used would be nice too...
I've just realised that using the tab stop key also creates paragraphs with blank lines between them. But apparently only when you're asking a question, not when you're answering one.
