Incremental, but Rome wasn't built in a day, goes the saying ...

Hehe, nice one. Take some lingots.

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/PeaceForce

Hey giver(s), thanks for being generous! The extra lingots help offset the 20 ones I had to plunk down, as opposed to going Plus, to level up a skill yesterday on my Android.

However, such pay-to-play incidents, so to speak, should serve as a warning to us free riders/non-monetary contributors about house money gaining currency in scarcity.

I earned my money by learning stuff. Least I can do, is help somebody else learn stuff to earn money.

edit: also, this might coerce you into getting plus. I've mostly just been procrastinating on it.

Looking forward to this! It's only been 35 years since my last Latin lesson!

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/TheTenthDoctor.

Cool! But I still say too many cooks spoil the soup!! :)

They have got a ton of work to do.. I like the saying "many hands make light work" better.

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Hxvan

Let's hope this is not the case.

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/SortKatt

That is splendid! I can hardly conceal my vast excitement about that

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Elgatobandido

Crossing my fingers for a Latin course late this year or early next year.
Obviously I'd like to see it tomorrow, but I would rather wait for a properly developed tree than see an underdeveloped tree and/or one full of errors released too early.

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/ARCANA-MVSA

    It's about time! :D

Also, has anybody else noticed that they have 18 contributores now?

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/KatrinaTheLamia

I hope that when it is released there are plenty of fan art images of Duo the Owl telling people how Leviosa is pronounced! xD

I also want information on who is learning Latin to sound profound, and who is learning it to summon the demons. xD

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/ARCANA-MVSA

I learned Latin sufficiently well in high school to summon demons. Now I'm just looking to continue it so I can summon patroni instead.

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Ampharos64

Hah, I was annoyed at Alexa's Harry Potter quiz the other day because apparently my pronunciation of 'Obliviate' wasn't good enough to be accepted. It's 'Oblivi-ah-tay!'

Everyone knows the demons will only come if you sound sufficiently profound, so it's both. I'll be learning it in order to be able to read really boring stuff like medieval housing deeds, tho.

Nice! Does this mean Duolingo will have Latin, too?☺☺☺

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/kwis20171

Yes they have just started making a course for Latin

      [deactivated user]

I'm going to add Latin to my languages. Hopefully.

        [deactivated user]

This is such excellent news! Our schools won't teach it, but we can get around that by coming here to be educated!

          https://www.duolingo.com/profile/iiBean

          yeyeyeyyeyeyeyye, cant wait

          [deactivated user]

            YES! YES! YEEEEEEEEESSSS!

            This made my day.

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Windrammer

            My exact reaction aswell.

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Cat756229

            Yippee, I can hardly wait!

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/LorenzoStDubois

Now, this is epic. This totally made my day!

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Emphysematous

Yaaay! I'm so happy about this

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/wpdls

That’s exciting. Though I’ve studied (not become fluent in!) several Romance languages, I have never studied Latin.

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/lethal_gnome

            AAAAAAAAA

I'm VERY excited!!! I was thinking it'd take a while for there to be any visible progress on the Latin course.

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/ScottFleischman

Hey cool! Thanks for sharing. I am super excited for this. I have many questions about it too :)

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/ARCANA-MVSA

            Lux habet ... quid?

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/VladaFu

            Nos lucem habebimus!

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/comolaflor98

Oh, that's really cool! I'm not looking to learn Latin at the moment, but it's nice to know I'll eventually have the option if I decide to in the future.

(By the way, this is completely off topic, but I love your profile picture :D)

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Michael704761

so Happy latin is coming, its long been overdue but better late than never!

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/melje

            I’m so happy too!!!!!!!

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/NicolasGreicher

I don't know what is happening but the course making-progress is being disappeared. Few days ago it was like 3/4 but today it is just less than 1/2.

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Michael704761

i noticed that too, I was excited thinking beta release is imminent but saw yesterday that it went back down :(

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/LingualKnuckles

I’m so hyped, THE BETA FOR IT IS NOW 90% DONE AND IT’S DESCRIPTION, FLAG AND NEW RELEASE DATE IS NOW SHOWN ON DESKTOP.

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Michael704761

looks like we may have lost a contributor I just checked and it was 18 instead of 19

            https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Rob317316

I'm really excited about this. I really want to learn this important foundational language for Europe

Learn a language in just 5 minutes a day. For free.
