I got it correct thru context, but I was slightly thrown when I saw "la moitie" which I first took as "the half" What is the rule that applies here?
I think we have the equivalents in Norwegian, where "demi" is «halv» (also wrt. e.g. time), and "moitié" is «halvpart». The latter could be translated into "halfpart" in English.
