Lost my 22 day streak even though I practiced yesterday.

I know 22 days is not a very long streak, but it was a motivation for me to continue. It discouraged me a lot when I saw that I lost the streak this morning, as I am sure that I practiced yesterday and reached my goal.

When my goal was reached yesterday, I could not open any chests for some reason. They were just floating in the air and disappeared if I tapped somewhere else on the screen. In case I lost connection to the servers and my streak could not get recorded, it would at least have been nice to know that, so I could try again later...

I use the app for iPad. Thanks for your time.

No XP has been recorded yesterday (19th). Did you study using the app? It is possible that any XP earned did not get synchronised with the website.

It is wise to maintain a streak freeze to prevent this in future and/or refresh the Duo homepage to check it has synchronised.

So everyone had this issue yesterday or is it only me, that has no XP recorded? I used the app and did not check the website.

How would a streak freeze work? Doesn’t it only work before the day is over? Thanks for your help.

Same problem here since yesterday. It is not possible to earn daily XP neither through the app nor through the website. The streak is still on and day count seems to be frozen as well.

I tried relogging to the app and it didn't help.

Trying to research what a streak freeze is, can't find it. Can someone explain it, or, better yet, where to find out how to do this?

A streak freeze enables you to miss one day without losing your streak. You buy it with lingots. On desktop, click on the lingot button (the red "gem") on the right of the menu bar. On Android click on the "Treasure Chest" button at the bottom right of your screen. I don't have an iPhone, so I don't know how the iOS app is laid out. Anyway, clicking the appropriate button will take you to the Duolingo Shop, and you'll see the option to buy a streak freeze. It's my understanding that you can't use it on the day you buy it. On Android I get a notification if my streak freeze gets used, but on desktop I don't, and I wouldn't rely on notifications always working, so it's a good idea to check regularly that your streak freeze is still there. I've had mine mysteriously disappear when I hadn't missed a day in weeks.

The same thing happened to me and my 337 day streak! I finished, and didn’t get the choice to open a chest, but assumed that was a bug affecting only the chest, not the streak.

I lost all my 100 all so streaks yesterday as my windows updated and put on new security I was unable to actually get into duolingo ( tried 6 times) is there a possibility getting them back as I have not missed a lesson in over 100 days?????
