The difference between 저는 and 나는
So, I've been learning Korean for a week now, and I just don't get the difference between 저는 and 나는 . Like, when do you use 저는 and when do you use 나는 ? because in the end, the translation is the same. Hopefully someone can help me, it would help a lot!
That's it for now I guess...
저는 is used in formal speech(to the elder, co-workers and teachers)
나는 is used in informal speech(to your friends and people younger than you)
As already said, 저는 is the form for the word in which you use to formally address someone (usually when speaking to someone older than or not familiar to you), and 나는 is the form for the word in which you use to informally address someone (usually when speaking to someone younger or familiar to you). If you find yourself in a conversation unsure of whether or not you should use formal or informal language, I would suggest using the formal version just to be safe and polite to the other person you are conversing with.
