7 jours sur la planète is a French language roundup of major news stories each week. There are plenty of learning resources for every learning level, including quizzes and transcriptions of news stories. I try to watch the round-up each week, and using the transcripts jotting down new words with the aid of my trusty dictionary.

I don't know whether you have an iPhone or tablet, but they have an app that is pretty cool. They post a new video clip each week and have written dialogue so you can follow along. They have selected words that you can study through a flash card set up or by the games that they have. I really like it because it allows you to hear native French and not fake internet French, while also learning about current events from a French point of view.

Sections from those broadcasts (among others) are used in TV5Monde's excellent instructional materials.

If the raw broadcasts are too hard, I definitely recommend giving this a try.

A 'Resources List' that's a good idea too.
