Free Resources for Your Target Languages
I really like this site, gratisglobal. On the top left when you open the page, click on the "language learning" drop down and choose your target language to get a list of free resources for your target language.
Here are some of the most popular, but there are more:
- Learn ARABIC for Free
- Learn CHINESE for Free
- Learn ENGLISH for Free
- Learn FRENCH for Free
- Learn GERMAN for Free
- Learn HINDI for Free
- Learn INDONESIAN for Free
- Learn ITALIAN for Free
- Learn JAPANESE for Free
- Learn KOREAN for Free
- Learn PORTUGUESE for Free
- Learn RUSSIAN for Free
- Learn SPANISH for Free
- Learn TURKISH for Free
After choosing your target language, you will then get a page with extensive well organized language resources for that language. It is quite impressive how complete the list is. I think Susie Fougerousse (Sfouge1) is the creator of the page. If you have additional resources, add them here, and maybe she'll add them to the global page.
01LearnFrench01, You are spoiling us with all of this tidbits of knowledge. Thank you!!! Enjoy a couple of Lingots.
I hardly use the community courses since I hardly use Memrise, but Memrise went downhill recently with the announcement that they will move all community courses to a separate site called Decks but will not get its own app. It's a very bad move in my opinion and many people were extremely outraged, since most users use the community courses made by others and Memrise offers only a few courses for a few languages.
That makes me sad, Nanase-Miyuki. I use the Memrise community courses everyday. Now, I'm anxious to see the site called Decks to see how it compares to Memrise. Thanks for the information!
01LearnFrench01 for President! Merci beaucoup, vous êtes vraiment très gentil!
I stumbled upon this site in the Japanese Discussions recently when someone posted a link to the site's Japanese resources. It's a very good compilation of resources and apps, while I happen to have most of those apps on my phone before I even found this site.
Wow! It's already super helpful for me who wants to learn French but it also has Indonesian for my husband who is American and desperately want to learn Indonesian. Lingots are on their way, dude. Thanks!
It did not mention Treccani for Italian. That course is hidden within the site, for which you need to register, so it is not easily found. Lucrezia told me about it on YouTube. She is listed and gives good tips.
Wait, I couldn't find Latin, Filipino (yup, even though I am native, there are some technical stuff I have to consider) and Arabic. Could you lead me there?
The Arabic page and a couple others mention clozemaster, which I just tried for Spanish and I love it. Unfortunately it’s not useful for Arabic at least for me, as it requires having at least a passive knowledge of a good portion of words, but it’ll be very fun to use as a stepping stone at the end of/after duo. Also, it isn’t completely free ($8 a month and $60 a year), looks like most of the grammar exercises for Spanish are pro as well as unlimited use of the listening feature, but I don’t know about the regular fill in the blank exercise.
This is AWESOME! Thank you :)
I use Memrise quite a bit, and TinyCards sometimes, but this site is like a treasure trove of resources for so many languages!
