Is there a way to disable all the listening/hearing excercises?
Since some a long period, I am having an issue with the audio parts of exercises which don't play at all on browsers. It's an occasional problem but it is very annoying when I'm trying to pass a test and I receive (three) listening exercises!
For each individual exercise, I think there is usually a way to dismiss that exercise with "I can't listen right now" or "I can't speak right now" (and I think that choice then remains in place for the rest of the lesson, although I'm not sure).
You can also change your Settings in Duolingo to disable access to the speakers and/or mikes. However, this might turn off the speaking of sentences that aren't listening exercises. You may not mind that side effect.
After doing some couple of tests, I came to a conclusion that your method works by turning off the speaker, I disabled also sound effects xD Just make sure to not mess with the settings while you have a pending test because they will be automatically restored.
That is only possible on phone, but since I can't take test anymore on the new version update of Duolingo then I have to do tests on the browser where this issue happens more often than on phone. Thank you for the response as I did disabled the speaker and I will test the effects after I finish the pending test, years ago we had the ability in the settings to disable and able speaking and listening but not anymore, as matter of fact, I disabled years ago speaking and then I thought of reactivating it but it is not happening, it is not that bad to stuck with it.
Hi there, I have the same issue. I have never been able to hear any audio so I always note that I am unable to speak now (skip the audio excercises). Is there a way to resolve this issue?
I'm not having problems with the audio right now [though I did previously], but I am hard-of-hearing and the listening exercises are just too difficult for me to hear/understand sometimes. I have them turned off on the app but I mostly use the site and I'd like to know how to turn them off there too.
