A dream about the Vocabulary page

How sad is that? I've now actually had a dream about the Vocab page as of last night. In it, Duo unveiled the new version to us.

As for the design, it fit well with Duo's new layout. It said 'Vocabulary' in bold black letters at the top (not mockingly) and had a nice formal table with clickable sort order headers and several columns for every word (either I couldn't see, or can't remember what the columns were). Examples of usage were included, though. My count was accurate so I assume it listed them all.

But the last detail I remember of this brief dream snippet, whether funny or scary, is the main reason I'm writing this post. Drumroll, please...

Enabling the new Vocab page costed $0.89 USD.

Well I haven't had a dream about it yet, but I'm sure the thought of a Vocab page passes through many minds every day. It was so useful.

I miss it, too. I've been using Memrise for the last couple of weeks, and have improved my vocabulary quite a bit.

I wish the vocabulary will come back soon! I have 501 words and I can only remember the basics and some other few words! :-(

I would totally pay 89 cents to enable it!

I liked the vocab list because it le me see the conjugations of certain words but now they let you do that in the practice so it's not so bad without it now.

if you're not exclusive about using DL on phones, ligua.ly chrome extention might suit your needs perfectly.

Yes! I agree! I'm using that extension as well. Another good, but not great extension for chrome is Language Immersion for Chrome. You set your fluency to a level, and on pages, it translates a few words into Spanish. It can be slow to load, so I don't use it as much, but its a good resource.

I miss the vocabulary section. I use Quizlet now, which is fine, but its a bit annoying not studying the same words on the same website.

Your dream made me smile. I don't see them charging to enable new sections of the site (in line with the philosophy of keeping Duo accessible to everyone), but I certainly hope they put the vocab page back soon. :)

That does not fit with the promise of Duolingo: learning languages for the world forever for FREE.

however for vocabulary you could try memrise: www.memrise.com

Yep, the lack of vocab (and other features) has already driven me to find memrise (and other sites).
