Dessert-Rose's "Basic Rules and FAQ in Duolingo"

Woudn't it be nice if Dessert-Rose's

"Basic Rules and FAQ in Duolingo (If you're new, please read this!) - Help Center Summary"

Basic Rules and FAQ in Duolingo (If you're new, please read this!) - Help Center Summary

would be a sticky post on

All topics, popular tab

because this is the first thing, all new forum users see.

The above post, gives excellant answers to questions that new users post everyday.

Sounds very sensible to me but I am known to be very, perhaps overly, logical as well as sensible.

It is quite comprehensive post. We cannot expect that new users read it from top to bottom. Most questions that new user have can be answered by Google.

Good idea. Using google to find answers should be added to Dessert-Rose's post.

google:

I think this would be nice, but as dogomolo mentions, this is a very long and frankly somewhat boring post to new people. Don't get me wrong, it's a great guide, but I don't know how many people would read it all the way through.

I also think that Duolingo won't sticky a post unless it's by someone at Duolingo, admin, mod, contributor, etc. Not just by some "random" Duolingo.

I think this is a fine idea, but I just feel it's semi-unlikely it'll happen.

Sounds like an excellent idea but I don't think as mentioned, that a new user would read it all the way through nor would staff sticky it because Dessert-Rose isn't a mod or staff. It's an excellent place to find answers to most new user's questions about Duolingo and it also is simple to understand.
