If we were to ask a friend what time it is, the reply would probably be shortened to (Hapalua hola ʻehiku) Half past 7.

In normal conversation the words (ʻO ka) and (kēia) are dropped from (Hapalua hola ʻehiku) .

The complete sentence would be ( ʻO ka hapalua hola ʻehiku kēia. )
