Why am I frequently losing the sound during a session?

I have the same problem. I get the first two words sometimes and the audio cuts out. On occasion I just blindly guess what comes next just to get to the next screen. Other times I have to click "can't listen now" which stinks because then I lose the ability to have the audio learning portion for awhile. This happens only on my laptop - not on my phone AP. My daughter reports having the same problem with her PC. Again, it seems specific to PC use and not the phone AP.

This appears to be a chronic problem Most of the time the sound cuts out unexpectedly during a test-out, and when asked to choose what is being said, you don't get the option to skip as you would during a normal lesson. It forces you to either sacrifice a heart or cancel the lesson and start over, in the hopes that the sound works.

Duo: Please look into this. This apparently has been going on for the past five years.

Full disclosure: I am using Safari 12.1, with either a bluetooth or a full set of headphones - and the sound cut-off with headphones is not as bad as on the bluetooth, but still occurs.

Without changing settings, I suddenly during a session, get no sound, so can’t do my lesson when a sentence is given to write down

I, too, am having this problem. Sometimes, like JoySchreib, I get a couple of words and then nothing; other times, like Jeanette437810, there is no sound whatsoever, so I cannot practice at all. This is happening on my iMac desktop. I haven't experienced the same problem with my iPad.

My sound has completely gone in the Danish course (Kitchen module) it started OK, but disappeared part way though

I have experienced all the sound problems below, now there is new problem with the sound, it is breaking down like a bad connection, it is like crackers. I have re loaded the several times but could not get rid of the problem. I think Duolingo need to take a serious action. It is very disappointing.

Again the sound just stops. It is frustrating to have the new question and no sound so that you know that the last ten minutes have been a complete waste of time. Why does duolingo do this????

I experienced this problem with the sound and posted a message in this regard. Then I switched from using Safari to GoogleChrome. I have been on this browser for the last three days and it seems the problem has gone away. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
