Japanese stories.

I think it would help duolingo if they added a Japanese story. It can help people a little more with speech. Does anyone agree that we should have stories for Japanese?

It would be nice if Duolingo were to have stories in Japanese. It would greatly help in the application of what we've learned throughout the use of this app.

There should be stories for every languages here but that's not the Duolingo's priority, unfortunately. Hope that the updated tree will be greater than it is currently.

Yes, it would be nice to have stories, not only in Japanese, but in Chinese, Romanian and all the other languages on Duolingo.

However, a lot of work goes into preparing these stories. Stories need to be written, audio recordings need to be made, everything needs to be put together and tested. I am sure that stories will come for more languages over time. So kindly have a little bit of patience.

At least one Duolingo story is the same in both French and Spanish, so maybe it would be a timesaver for them to translate existing stories into other target languages. But when it comes to audio alone, DL still has a lot to do.

Actually more than one. And yes, it would save some time to translate existing stories, but even with that, it still needs to be translated. And translation can be more difficult than you think.

I am not sure of the relationship between the tree and the stories, but I can imagine that most of what goes into the French and Spanish stories is covered by the tree (at least the first few story sets). It seems to be that the current Japanese tree is also significantly shorter, which may mean that some of the materials you would "need" to move ahead with the stories is not available yet.

But that is mere speculation.

I agree. Japanese stories are currently the feature that I would most like to see added to Duolingo (although I also wish that Duolingo made more use of Tinycards — this also seems to have the potential to be an incredibly useful study aid for learning Japanese that currently seems to be underdeveloped).

You can try learning English from Japanese. I learned a lot more from doing that.
