Do you have the new voice reading the sentences too? I like it!
I don't love the new voice. I find the male voice more difficult to understand. I wish there was a way to customize it so we could pick the voice we want to hear.
I like it because it is a little harder to understand. For me it sounds more like real people would talk and after getting used to it it might be easier to understand as well. Plus it teaches to understand different people.
No dialect inflection, a rather marked (almost emphasised) intonation... It sounds more like a theatre actor on a stage, or the background voice of a commercial than an ordinary speaker.
The female voice spoke more naturally.
Nevertheless, it's a good thing to get accustomed to different types of voices and varieties of speech.
I'm struggling with the new voice. There always seems to be one word in his sentence that I cannot catch. ...tries normal speed, tries slow speed a few times; back to normal speed, can I figure out by the other words what he is saying? Is this a completely new word?!? Well, sound it out...and yep, that was wrong and it's a word I know. Argh
I know I'll get used to it, but mildly frustrating to miss silly words like direzione.
Report any sentences that don't sound correct as soon as you encounter them.
I heard the male voice say "dere" (dher-rey) about six times (3 each on normal and slowed down) before I could figure out that it was supposed to be "bere".
I seen some people post about the new voice months back, but I didn't run into it till recently. Seems ok to me, it's clear. It's good exposure, puts you on the spot, as we cannot pick and chose irl. Something that I found difficult, I watched some oldschool He-Man eps in italian and something about the audio quality threw me off. too much bass, sound effects were louder than voices at times, changing the voice to sound sinister. And some of those classic comedies.. captions are a must.
