Is Duolingo tone Def?

They've been making changes no one is asking for and ignoring everything people are asking for. For example, Vietnamese lessons are full of errors and grammar mistakes. Some of the requests are over two years old, but they are doing nothing about it. Instead of fixing the core reason why people are on here, they are fixing their point systems and look?

Here's some advice from a designer.

The new look isn't any improvement. Most people don't care about the looks, we care about the content. Fixing the cosmetics but ignoring the underlining problem of the errors in the languages are tone deaf.

This isn't Instagram. People are on here to learn. Fix the learning.

Sincerely, User since beta.

There is a certain importance to the design. Mostly removing it. It physically hurts to read on their website now.

All of the courses that came from the Incubator (including, but not limited to, the Vietnamese from English course) were made by volunteers rather than by Duolingo employees. The latter do not deal with the content of Incubator courses.

Regarding ignoring things that people ask for, see Dr. von Ahn’s answer to question 14 here.

... made by volunteers, rather then by duolingo employees .....

However, ......
the best courses in Duolingo are created and maintained by unpaid volunteers!
(e.g. the course "Dutch from English").
