I don't mind that 'sendang' also means 'happy', I just don't like that this is the first time we see it.

They should introduce a word before they test you on it.

Senang = Bahagia = gembira? So many words for happy. Is there any difference in nuance between them?

They are synonyms and no, there is no difference between them. However, they served a slightly different purpose from the point of expression.

  • We express 'gembira' by laughing
  • We express 'senang' by smiling
  • Bahagia diekspresikan dalam hati dan perasaan. (Feeling)

But in Indonesia, simply use 'senang' or 'seneng' (non-formal word)

Can we just stick with the most common version of the word this is new version is just dropped on us in middle of a test.... Confusing

Which is the perfect word for happy, is it bahagia or gembira?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/__K.

Bahagia. Gembira is for “joyful; hahaha-laughing happy.”

Gembiri? Also happy?

Now yhe correct answer is kita gembira., which is still a new word that has not been shown before ... So how many ways to say happy are there? And what is different about them all?
