中英文翻译问题和习题难度问题--一个门外汉在用多邻国的想法

目前我在翻译某些句子的情况下会和标准答案有些许的偏差,被系统判定为错误。 比如说他玩了一整天 我写了 he played all day long 系统认为我的long错了。

In that case …awkward…. 如果多邻国想添加更复杂的翻译题目的话here is my advice 1.

At last thank you for your time to reading this piece of s***.

Not a bad concept, but it would be better if it's forwarded to the Duolingo technical team! I personally don't think that the contributors can do anything about it.

And as for my own input... Yes, Duolingo's engine isn't the best out there, as the possible answers accepted aren't machine-generated but accepted one by one through the users' own inputs, which is both its strength and its weakness... As in? There are various grammatical rules that couldn't be converted directly through a translation machine, and there exist multiple variations of the same saying, or even idioms in this matter.

So personally, I feel that despite how slow and how much it is a pain in the ass by accepting one correct answer at a time, a correct and accurate answer holds more grounds than allowing incorrect answers to be present. The sentence discussion forum is there for studying grammatical rules and exceptional cases.

It's a long road to be built, but surely ain't it achievable? The Great Wall didn't took a night after all.

And mind you, the same issues still persist for other languages such as French, Spanish, Italian... you name it. The only difference between these courses and the Chinese ones remains in the fact that they've been here for much longer and the user base is still strong when it comes toreporting the issues even after the courses got out of beta (yes, stable releases can still have issues, which are rare but still present).

It's a crowd-sourced ressource after all, whilst it doesn't seem really efficient by how the current pace is progressing... things will work out eventually.

(and sorry for not typing in Chinese but I doubt that at my current level it'll be barely understandable for what I'm trying to convert...)
