Enfin ! J'ai complété mon arbre et je suis devenu «Le Maître» !

It all began on the 14 of July, 2013, when I accidentally stumbled on the Duolingo app in the App Store. Looking back, I'm so grateful of that accident! It's been a long journey since then, learning more and more, levelling up, strengthening my skills, lately even duelling, and today, finally, on the 28 of March, I have finally completed my French tree! The amount I have learnt over here and the amount of knowledge that I have gained in the French language, is just so lovely. I'm far from calling myself «le maître du français» of course, as I still have a long way to go, mais au moins, I can call myself «le maître de mon arbre», therefore fulfilling the initial purpose of my username. ;)

There's a lot more for me to learn as yet, and I have just realised how vast and endless one's language learning trip can be! :) I especially need to work on my conversational and listening skills, which I will try to improve in the time to come. :) And then there's the task of keeping my tree golden too... :) A lot more to go...

My journey doesn't end here of course, and now I'm going to work on either German or Spanish, depending on which I feel like doing more.

Merci beaucoup pour tout Duolingo ! S'il n'était pas pour toi, je n'aurai pas pensé que j'aurai pu apprendre autant ! Merci encore ! (N'hésitez pas à corriger mes fautes)

Et alors, mon voyage continue.....

Congratulations, that is awesome! I hope to one day do the same with German. :)

Since you asked for corrections on the post, I will gladly provide some (as a native French speaker). :)

le maître de français --> le maître du français (in French, we have a déterminant (or article in English) in front of languages, (e.g. le français, l'anglais, l'espagnol) and "du" is the contraction for "de le", although you can't actually say "de le", as opposed to "de la")

Merci beaucoup pour tous --> Merci beaucoup for tout (tout/tous can be tricky, what you said there is "thanks for everyone" instead of "thanks for everything")

S'il n'étais pas --> S'il n'était pas (troisième personne de l'imparfait de l'indicatif, but native speakers will make these kinds of mistakes too, French verb tenses and their spellings are ridiculous)

je ne pense pas que je pourrais appris tellement --> je ne pense pas que j'aurai pu apprendre autant (this is a bit weird, it might be fine? I would have said it otherwise: "Je n'aurai pas pensé que j'aurai pu apprendre autant." (I wouldn't have thought that I could learn so much) It might be my colloquial French taking over, but I still think it works)

Sois libre à corriger mes fautes --> N'hésitez pas à corriger mes fautes ("Do not hesitate to correct my errors" would be a better translation, what you said is more like "be free to correct my errors")

mon voyage se continue --> mon voyage continue (what you said is "my trip continues itself!")

That's all I caught. :)

All that said, you still have an excellent handle on French! :)

I'm so jealous. I've been on my French Tree since April of last year and still working on it. Call me a turtle learner

Oh, I'm not any less turtle learner myself considering that people finish their trees in a matter of weeks… :)

Thanks a lot, _gs9! Yes, my real challenge begins now. It's like I've been a small bird who was nurtured in a nest all this while, and now, I need to learn to flap my wings and discover new horizons. :)

Mes félicitations ! Bienvenue au club des finalistes. :)

J'ai voulu dire 'If it was not for you'.
