A Thank You
After dipping in and out of using Duo for years, about a year and a half ago, I returned to Duo properly and got a few streaks of around 50 - 100 days, before I started the current streak I am on now, which lead to me finally achieving level 25 in French! (I have now started the reverse French - English tree and will continue to practice my English - French tree to level five in all lessons!)
I have been cheered, heartened and humbled by the community here, so many people so ready and willing to help and encourage, so many people so happy and enthused about languages and learning, so many people open to new ideas and revelling in new experiences.
I would like to thank the Duo community wholeheartedly, for inspiring, supporting and making this a great place to learn, as well as Duo developers for the free, fun and ever growing learning experiences.
Mes profonds remerciements tout le monde!
Thank you! Such an impressive streak too, a little practice each day really does go such a long way!
Thank you! And good luck with your German and Spanish! I want to learn those too eventually!
I also have the reverse German-English tree too, but that doesn't show.
I am doing the reverse German-English tree too, but I am mostly focusing on the English-German tree.
You obviously put in a lot of work on French and the other languages you're learning, which is very impressive! You have also responded to and kept an eye on your post, which is very responsible!!! A Lingot for each!!!
Thank you, I don't put a lot of value into streaks on Duo in the sense that if you lose one it's totally fine, but I mention them as a reminder of their most valuable purpose, a little bit of practice really does go a long way. I never thought I'd be a level 25 type of person, but that little bit of regular practice has shown me that with the effort, you really can make it! You look well on your way to achieving your goals too, so best of luck with them!
I love your positivity, and congratulations on your achievements! I hope I can reach your level in French one day!! ^^
Thank you so much, I am sure you will make it!
P.S. Korean is such a cool language, I'd love to learn it one day too, so maybe when that day comes, I will be hoping to match your level too! Good luck with your studies!
Thank you!! And same to you of course!! Also, a friend of mine speaks fluent Korean so that's a big motivator for me, hope you can one day learn it too!!!
This is a nice refreshing post thank you for posting and great job with your French.
Thank you very much! I must admit too, that you are one of those community members I was thinking of when writing this, your presence on the forums is always so kind, helpful and encouraging! Thank you again!
Though optimism isn't optimal, I really do appreciate a post where someone thanks, not one person, but everyone at the same time. Kudos and lingot.
alexusG - Congratulations on persevering, and thanks for sharing your accomplishment with us. This is my favorite post in many weeks! A handful of lingots to mark the moment...
Merci mon amie! I am so impressed by all the languages you are learning! I am glad you liked the post and I hope you are enjoying your studies!
It takes a village to raise a child, but here it is a community that is like a global village spanning across numerous cultures and languages. And yet we do so much better to have our virtual village of encouragement than going it alone.
Language is after all quintessentially a collaborative experience, one that enriches each participant equally in multiple dimensions and ways.
Good luck for further progress, and enjoy!
Thank you, I completely agree and am really grateful to the duo community. I hope you're enjoying your learning too!
Right on the money ....lovely thoughts, thanks for sharing your joy. A nice moment now for me to stop DL this evening and sit back with a nice whisky and water and look forward to more learning, sharing and caring tomorrow. May the force be with you always.
