250 days in German
Just got notice that today was day 250. I have completed 91 of 121 and think that I will make it before my year ends in August. Wish me continued success. Doc
"250 days in German" sounds good, yet sometimes feels like "Dante's Inferno" due to its beloved grammer :)
But it definitely worth it... Widely contraversial it is; Who is German ? And what is German language ? Anyway there is a reality of "Germans" with a unique and sometimes funny culture; A harsh and romantic history (In which they resisted against all the major forces of Europe starting with the Roman Empire, lost two world wars and yet struggling for the leadership of Europe again); and of course the language itself....
Everybody knows them, everybody loves them, many respect and many hates them... If whole humanity is one big family, they are "our" Germans and there are no other of them.
So 250 days is just a beginning of a long, strange and beautiful journey...
Keep going Sir, Gut gemacht :)
Don't forget the "Wars of Religion" from about 1618-1648. Germany may have lost 50% of it's population. Germany has gone through a lot.
If you started around the same time I did, I was more focused on in person classes than I was here. Then I realized here gave me valuable repetitions on what I was learning and allowed me to experiment with word orders to see what was possible.
Here is to another 250 to you.
Are you using duolingo as primary source of knowledge, or it's only supporting you on your "trip" to speaking this language? :) Congrats anyway
