"He appears to be tired." Where does the "to be" come from?
I put "He appears tired." and that was accepted.
I put the same response as you. I believe it is one of those schema rules where it would be accepted to say and people would automatically translated it with estar.
I put "it appears he is tired" what's the difference between their answer and my answer??

The correct translation of that should be "he seems tired" and not "he appears to be tired". Appears isn't even listed in the translation of parece when you press the word parece
