[Idea]: Can we bring back the daily goal checkmark?
It kinda gets hard (To check), because I just wanna look, and then get out of this website.
I don't hate Duolingo, BTW.
If you don't get what I mean, I mean the checkmark near the "Fire"/Streak, that tells you if you did Duolingo today (And met goal) or not.
So............. Bring the checkmark back?
I think the flame icon changes colour from gray to orange after you reach your daily goal, so an indicator still exists. Unless I'm misremembering.
Edit: I only use the desktop version.
I believe someone stated (in another discussion) that that was only on the app however I've already met my goal for the day so I can't double check if that's true.
The app and web version work the same now.
Daily goal not complete = Grey flame.
Daily goal complete = Colored in flame.
I agree with the poster. Not messing with anyone, but today I genuinely thought I had lost my 71 days streak an had no idea how to check now. If they already send us daily emails, Why not also send us a "what's new" one?
I believe you press on the tiny pale flame - it might take a couple of tries. It turns red after you hit target. Exciting hey!
the first time I saw that while using the PC version, I too was worried I had not met my goal by some mistake. But then on the second day of using Duo with the new menu bar, I noted the flame was simply greyed out and it did turn orange upon meeting my daily goal. So no worries! It works. Like most things in life, it just takes getting used to change.
Like the others, I thought somehow I'd lost my streak. I think it was much clearer before with a checkmark but I guess YMMV.
On the web version, If you go to "Your Profile" and put the cursor on top of the flame you can still see the checkmark ;)
Thank you! I thought none of the units I just did showed up, but I did what you suggested, and it shows they are completed. It has been frustrating not knowing whether I'm getting credit.
I have chrome, updated, and Windows 10, and I just went to my profile and clicked on the orange flame and got the little graph again. Then I did a few more exercises and when I hovered over the flame on the page the little graph appeared! Now how the heck are we supposed to know it's there?
Yep, I had the same issue, especially as I would just glance at it to see if I was up to date.
The flame goes grey on web, and on mobile platform there is the circle representing the percentage completed for your daily goal. I personally don't mind this but would appreciate the icon to come back to web
So, through all the changes, I've been confused, because I'm not sure I notice anything different. The look of the tree has changed a bit, but the bright colors discussion...stuff like that, I just don't get it. And now, the talk about the check mark. I still see the check mark when I've completed my goal. I'm looking at it right now. I use the desktop version/web page, and I use Chrome for my browser. Anybody else not seeing the changes?
I don't see the check at all. If my daily goal isn't met, my flame for my streak is greyed out - hence I thought I had lost my 260-day streak - and the XP graph on the sidebar that I used at a glance to see if I had done my practice had gone. When I completed my daily goal today, my streak flame became coloured, as showing in the images. I later found that the graph is hiding and shows if I hover over my streak flame, not on the shop page (which I happened to be on at the time).
I think a couple of others have mentioned still seeing the checkmark - maybe it hasn't rolled out to everyone at once?
I got used to the icon changing to red, but I do miss the checkmark a litle.
I miss the last 7-days activity more though. In fact, I kind wish I could get even more than just 7-days worth, but who knows if they even store that.
They have a record of your XP in comparison with your friends which displays weekly, monthly and all time. I don't know if they keep daily figures past a week, but they have some figures, at least. https://www.duome.eu/ as the last 21 days' figures, so that might be more helpful for you. Your link would be https://www.duome.eu/yetanothername
If you are on the LEARN page, hover over the flame and the weekly goal graph will display
