It's a distinction few people make in real life. A cross cousin is a child of your mother's brother or father's sister. Its antonym would be "parallel cousin", the child of your mother's sister or father's brother.

English has a term for it, so it's not as if the distinction isn't made in English at all, it's just not made on the level of common familial terms.
