I want to see the number of exercises on a level again

Duolingo made a lot of design changes, that I didn't care about much so far, but now it does not show anymore how many lessons there are on a level, like: I have done 2/30 or 12/50 or whatsoever. It only shows the percentage. I want the old numbers back. Why the change? This is less information. From the old numbers everyone could calculate the percentage themselves. Or there could be both: 12/50 and 24 %.

Pleeeeeaaaaase.

One cannot see anymore how big a lesson is and how long it will take to finish it. The only thing one sees is, if the yellow frame around the circle moves faster or slowlier and even that only always at the moment one finishes a lesson.

I used to do lessons more often that had more exercises in a round than lessons that had less so I always finished the earlier lessons first and the later lessons later. Maybe that seems stupid to other people, but why would you reduce the information? Percentage would be okay if all lessons had the same size.

Yes... I agree. I don't like at all the new % indication and this is why:

I like to go through all lessons in a each level until I just left one... then I go for the heart test... so I need to KNOW how many lessons left are. Because there are levels with JUST ONE LESSON and I could pass the level INADVERTENTLY. Maybe the way I use Duolingo could be even a hint to make it more challenging for others...

Thanks in advance for your work, Duolingo.

All lessons give 10 xp on iOS and 10 + bonus xp on Android?

I agree, the percentage level is unhelpful when trying to guage how big the next level is. I've also now got false percentage levels showing in all the icons that I haven't attempted yet!! Really annoying. Please sort out, Dualongo!

Thanks. That is interesting. I will check that out.

It is not exactly what I meant though and as I found out, I used the wrong words. What I called lessons are actually skills and what I called exercises are lessons. So what I wanted to see is the number of lessons in a skill or in a level of a skill. That is a different kind of level than the level that goes up with the number of XPs. I mean, when you click on those round circles - the skills - then it used to tell you, that you have done so many lessons out of so many (of one round/level) and now it just states a percentage.

You can see number of lessons in a skill in your Duome progress page:

Hej, I cannot find this page, so can you give directions? And I am very unhanded by the percentages. I play games with the number of lessons as well, and cannot do that with the new percentage-information. This for me is 'new is not always better', so IF you feel as designers that the percentage is for your need, than ADD it, but give the old done/togo information back, (not so) please(d)

That's interesting. Only that it doesn't show it correctly. Why doesn't it show the lessons I have left for People, Objects and Travel if it shows correctly that I am not at level 5 there yet?

I have none of that. It used to show many what level I was for each language and how much XP I needed to get to the next level . All of that is gone. On mobile, it only shows achievements. On the computer, it shows a little more, but nothing like what you have. If I hover over the xp, nothing happens.

They seem to be A/B testing it. Some users have been put onto percentages, some are still on numbers.

I got the percentages too - and I don't like this change. I thought I only had to do a few excercises to complete a level, turns out there are almost a dozen left to do - but that's only a guess. Percentages suck.

Or maybe it depends on the language.

I don't like new design. My opinion is the same as the title of the topic.

Why do the developers of Duolingo not react on this big issue? I would like their promise to at least give us the old information back. I am worried why this has not yet happened, and why we do not get any response at all at our complaints?

What big issue? If something is not working as expected, then developers should fix it. Developers don't have any responsibility to answer posts published in forums but they should react on bugs sent via this form.
