I was just wondering, it would be quite nice to have a dark mode on Duolingo (mobile and web versions). I have been using Duolingo a lot lately on my Nokia 5.1 and PC, and I absolutely love it (I joint Duolingo on 27.4.19, and in 6 days, I have 886 XP, no joke) but the bright whites on basically every page are starting to hurt my eyes a bit. I use dark mode on other apps like YouTube and Android Messages, and it looks really cool and helps my eyes too. So please, Duolingo staff, please add a dark mode.

Well said, Bradley. My eyes start spinning after twenty minutes. A lingot coming your way.
This will do the same, but for all websites. Not just Duolingo. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dark-reader/eimadpbcbfnmbkopoojfekhnkhdbieeh
I totally agree! My eyes sometimes hurt after awhile one the site. Dark mode would be super helpful.
I absolutly agree with you. I'm honestly amazed this website choose to go the complete opposite of current design standards in this regard. Never the less I'm greatful to the user who shared the Dark Reader Chrome extention a few weeks ago. It makes everything on this site much more enjoyable.
Yeah! Something similar to the Monokai editor theme would look pretty sweet! It'd also smooth out the experience for me as I run dark mode on MacOS and essentially everything I use is in a dark theme.
Yes, I think it's a great idea! It's so hard to look at the screen for longer than 20 minutes! The dark theme is a great idea
I think that’s a good idea. Personally, whenever I am reading something on a white background, I just make my darker until it feels comfortable and not burning my retinas. Can you just turn the lighting down on your phone and PC in the meantime? Btw the darker you keep you screen on your phone the longer your battery will last. Have it on bright and you will be constantly recharging. You probably already knew that. Sorry.
basically just want to second this. I am kind of surpised that an app with the reach of duolingo doesn´t offer a "dark mode". Frankly, I would even call it standard to have one nowadays, and a rather obvious oversight to not have one.
I understand and it would be nice, but in the time being before they add a dark mode, I would try adding this extension for pcs called darklingo (it's on stylus) I use it and it makes me not blinded
