High Valyrian - English Dictionary

Rytsas!

Due to the Tongues of Ice and Fire Wiki not showing any signs of getting any faster, I've decided to create a dictionary with all the vocab and have uploaded it to Google Drive. It contains HV - English, English - HV, condensed notes on the grammar and a number of phrases. Here's the link to the Microsoft Word version (sorry for using your most hated document processor, Dedalvs!): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1H35EfvdgLqFe_j-CyigofCmCXMYzs_l-

I've also turned this into a pdf: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kE-yw8Naqmau3Pw8nFdcrOe81Gx2rzDg

In the process of making this, I also created a database (using Access): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1q2M4Uo03pR0Pe-dAVpFrVi8NvP0GNmn5

Also, for anyone wondering what to do after finishing (or otherwise) the High Valyrian Duolingo course, I've created a Decks (formerly Memrise) course containing all the known High Valyrian words and phrases (outside of Dedalvs' head and computer, anyway): https://decks.memrise.com/course/2048298/high-valyrian-vocab/

Enjoy! Comments on errors/omissions/anything else really always welcome!

Being one of the people who put the info in that site together I can say that we are in the process of creating a PDF version more streamlined and based on DJP's way of registering. Either that or more similar to the Dothraki dictionary.

The dictionary is very useful. I did notice an error in the Adverbs section though – the ending should be -ī and not -inī and -lī for class II and III adjectives.

Thanks! :) I assume you mean R'hillor (or Rullor, if you're that way inclined)? :P At least, I hope you're not referring to the god of death...

Never hurts to include all of them. May help you avoid dragon fire, or getting killed at your cousin’s wedding. :)

I think you meant gods’ work (both old and new). ;)

Do you have sources on all the words? I haven't done the Duolingo course in a while but there are many that are not on the wiki. Edit: Seems that most of the words I didn't recognize are from the course. Good job!

Interested to see what you did with the database - but (ahem) I don't do Windoze. Any chance of an sqlite version - or even flat file csv's that I could slurp into Postgres? Been avoiding doing something similar for a while, so it is great to see someone starting that up.

To be honest, the database is too flat to be not terrible (this is in the category of 'would like to improve but don't know if I'll be able to find the time'), so you're not missing much, outside of being able to use SQL etc. I would import it using SQL... But I'm getting an interesting installation error, so maybe sometime this week? If it works? I can't do a great job on the CSV front as the database is flat enough that I've got commas as part of the fields. Would tab-separated by any good?

Oh sure - anything can be processed some way or other. Access itself is a genuine pain in the Linux world, so I would work with anything I can get! Can you mail it - gmhactsu at gmail dot com. Thanks! Spare Lingots in the post :-) I may be able to help in producing a slurpable version.
