“Decapitation” of the answers in multiple choice questions?
The mispositioned layout leads to confusion when recognizing Korean. For example, Korean characters starting with ㅅ, ㅈ, and ㅊ will look the same with the topmost part being cut off. In the picture above, the fourth row (first in the second part) is suppose to be 잠, but it looks like 삼.
Update: This problem causes confusion in Hindi too. In the picture below, one of them is suppose to be छोटा, and the other is छोटी. I have to copy the text onto somewhere else to check what they are. This only happens in multiple choice questions, not in other types of questions.
Many people have discussed stacked answers, misplaced answers and ones where you can't see all of the word because part of it is cut off. It is hard enough in French but really would make a difference in a language like Korean where it totally changes the word when part is cut off!
Be sure to report it as a bug. People have used the following fixes: 1. typing in the answers rather than choosing from word banks, 2. going to portrait mode to give more vertical room and 3. zooming out to also give more space.
I believe there are still problems that haven't been fixed, though, so do report it and also let them know what device, system you are on.
If you search for such things in the forums or even on Google you may find more info about what they are doing about it or other ways people have found to deal with it.
What platform are you using? Can you check it (app, browser, OS) is updated? Can you try out using DL on a different platform? Can you check you're not zoomed in or out or have some other strange display options on? Can you try the same platform on a different device (i.e. app on a different phone or browser on a different computer)?
If the problem persists after updates, correct zoom level and can be replicated on different platforms or devices, send a bug report: https://support.duolingo.com/hc/en-us/articles/204728264-How-do-I-report-a-bug-
Include as much information as you can and specify the type of device and software you're seeing it on.
It happens on the web only. It never happens on the app, which is not receiving any updates since November 2018.
The same thing happens to me. I hope this post gets more attention so a moderator can see it.
