Duolingo french stories

It seems like the stories have been "dumbed down". The content of the stories has been simplified, they are now told in fewer and simpler vocabulary, the questions are in English instead of French, and the voice narration became slower, the original narrators talked in a more natural although faster tone, it was a challenge but it was a valuable learning experience and more closely simulated what you would experience in the real world, the new narration is not much harder to decipher and understand than the TTS in the skill tree imho, I wish the staff give us the option to practise the stories in their original form or at least implement a level system like the one used with the skill tree where this simplified form is in the initial levels and the difficulty gradually increases as you level up.

I think the English questions are an A/B thing because I still get French questions.

I really, really hope that this doesn't stay. I didn't like the stories with English titles, as I saw/read those vocab words over and over again.

Dumbing down the stories is the wrong move. The right move is to encourage people to continue with their tree until they can do the stories, not create Dick and Jane for immersion.

Try a story from the first 2 sets.

the questions are in English instead of French

No!! That was a major selling point for the stories. They were a French experience.

I just tested the stories and you’re right. What a shame. The stories were great. They were full on emmersion, now there’s really no reason to even do them.

I did a story in the last set last night and it was normal.

I just checked this morning by doing a story in the first set. The questions were in English.

I don’t like this.

It seems like these changes apply to the stories in the first few sets, I hope the staff realizes it's not a good move.

I burned through all the stories a while back when they were an excellent French experience. I was looking forward to new ones, but if they are dumbed down-what is the point?

I completed all the stories a few days ago and started them over, as they are so beneficial. OH NO! What have they done!

A lot of the questions are now in English. That is a major backward step. Please, Please DuoLingo reverse this awful change. The stories were a form of total immersion, but no longer. I am so sad...

The easier/slower narration is a kind of a bummer as well.
