Additional resources for learning Swedish?

Hello,

I'm looking to study Swedish fairly seriously over the summer and I was wondering what if any materials any of you could recommend that I pick up that would be helpful for me?

Thank you!

You should also use Clozemaster and Memrise , both are free as well as Duolingo. (Memrise is not but you can get an apk)

Check out the list provided by the Duolingo Swedish course. There are a lot of suggestions there. You’ll need to add the Swedish discussion board to have it listed as one of the discussion boards you consult. https://forum.duolingo.com/topic/908

The free app 6000 Words Swedish will enlarge your vocabulary. The not free but cheap app Pocket Polyglot Swedish gives you useful words & phrases/touristy stuff. I plan on buying one of the Swedish grammars published by Routledge soon: I've been impressed by what they've published for other languages.

There is a user generated course on Memrise/Decks: 8000 most common words of Swedish. I can highly recommend it. Usergenerated courses are still free on Memrise. I started from zero in Swedish 3 years ago and did first the official Memrise course and then the one with 8000 words. By now I have learned about 4500 of the words and I am amazed how much more I understand!

The Assimil book plus CDs is also very helpful I think, but unfortunately it is expensive.

And I enjoy watching "Vännernas Stad" on YouTube. It is cartoon for children from Swedish TV. There are many episodes, it is not very difficult to understand, but helpful for learning every day life Swedish.
